Youth Pastor's Corner
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. We as the church have had a busy Christmas season. All the many activities associated with December was a great time of fellowship and understanding of just how important Christmas really is to us as the church. I thank God that Jesus came and dwelt among us in order to save us from our sins. We turn our attention now to the first month of the year where it is normally cold and we get some sort of inclement weather. January for most people is a time to start fresh into a new year. It is a time where lots of people make New Year's Resolutions and promises. Most of us break our promises to be a better person in some way but I'm thankful that God is the greatest promise keeper of all. Church here is a resolution for you all and that is to STUDY your Bible more this year than ever before. In this Scripture here we see Paul writing to Timothy and the church about understanding the Scriptures. People look at this passage and say well I'm not a preacher, teacher, or spiritual leader so this verse doesn't apply to me but church it applies to ALL of us. God expects us to learn his Word and apply it to our lives. God's Word is the only absolute truth in this world and church if you stick by the Bible it will never lead you astray. We as believers are called his workman to go out and tell the world about Jesus!!! We need to know what the Scriptures say in order to present the Gospel. This year most of you will make 2012 resolutions, promises or goals and that is good. However I challenge each of you and myself to make it a plan in 2012 to read your Bible more. If you have God's approval then you don't need man's approval. Give God your best for 2012 and beyond because He gave us His best through Jesus Christ our Savior. Have a blessed New Year and put God first in 2012!!!!!
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!

Children
We are happy to have your child be a part
of Children’s Church. Few things are more life changing
than for a child to have the knowledge of God’s Word
and the ability to use his or her Bible effectively. Your child
has an opportunity to learn the books of the Bible, Bible book
content, Bible history, Bible people, and life application.
Each week children will spend time learning Bible verses,
the books of the Bible, and about key passages in the Bible.
The group time includes a Bible story, prayer, verse memorization,
practice using their Bibles, and life application of the
story or verses.
We hope that you will be able to continue their learning
at home, helping them develop their Bible skills and verse
memorization. We are looking forward to having your child be a part of
our group this year.
The Youth and Children of Altamahaw Baptist Church play a vital role in the survival of our church, of any church for that matter. The Youth and Children are the future of our church. The look toward us for leadership, guidance and direction in every aspect of life.
We also provide a nursery during each of our church services and special events. We have kind and compassionate volunteers who will take care of your children while you worship.
